This op-amp application is a summing amplifier where the signal input has a gain of -1 and the 12V supply is amplified by -3/7 to provide enough voltage to turn on the LED to get it into its linear range. The change in light output is then proportional to the signal voltage. 这种运算放大器应用是一个求和放大器,其中信号输入的增益为-1,12V电源被放大-3/7倍,以提供足够的电压来点亮LED,使其进入线性工作区。光输出的变化则与信号电压成正比。

When an LED is forward biased to the threshold of conduction, its current increases rapidly and must be controlled to prevent destruction of the device. The light output is quite linearly proportional to the current within its active region, so the light output can be precisely modulated to send an undistorted signal through a fiber optic cable. 当LED正向偏置至导通阈值时,其电流会迅速增加,必须加以控制以防止器件损坏。在其活性区域内,光输出与电流几乎成线性关系,因此可以精确调制光输出,使信号通过光纤电缆传输时保持无失真。
